Here are a few of our recent projects in Northeast Ohio that transformed backyards into getaways with unique patios with custom designs.
The ultimate entertainment space: this design and construction started with a 3-tier 1,600 sq/ft of TimberTech Coastline decking giving access to the saltwater inground pool. Unilock Holland stone pavers were installed around the pool in sailor fashion with Brussels full nose coping in dark charcoal.
The outdoor kitchen space was built with brick and mortar to perfectly match the existing house design. The large AZEK pergola, overlooking the pool, houses the full outdoor kitchen: 48: gas grill, griddle and stock pot with two sinks and faucet, a wine bar, refrigerator and ice machine, and finished cabinetry. A 16′ tall fireplace rests seamlessly at the edge of the pergola, warming guests on chilly evenings. The entire space was enclosed in TimberTech aluminum fencing.
The project required a full rebuild of the pool plumbing system, navigating the existing property utilities. Carmel Landscapes dealt with the multiple variance meetings between the township of Russell and Geauga County to ensure compliance with all local and county property codes.
Total cost: $250,000
Time to completion: 4 months
This project in Chagrin Falls laid the foundation for a brand new backyard experience with a 900 sq/ft paver stone patio, fireplace, new lighting and gas implements for future expansion. Designing the space required replacing an existing timber deck, rerouting a water swale and improving very wet ground conditions.
The new patio was intentionally designed and constructed to allow for additional features like a kitchen space, additional gas firepit and attached pergola. The construction created new driveway access using Unilock beacon hill pavers in fusion color and sailor laid beacon hill small rectangles in dark charcoal that would match the rest of the patio. The custom-built belgard seating wall and gas firepit topped with Unilock ledgestone caps showcase how our designs are able to integrate many different brands of materials and modular systems to achieve a unified appeal.
Lighting was a major point of attention for the patio, as the customer wanted a specific, relaxed feel that wouldn’t light up the neighborhood like a football stadium at night. We installed hideaway Kitchler modular lighting with a temperature of 27K, which casts shadows very well and creates a relaxing environment for the homeowners and guests.
Total cost: $100,000
A unique biophilic design took shape in this 600 sq/ft hardscape installation in Solon, Ohio. Our designers incorporated the shagbark hickories on the property and used curvature in place of sharp corners and straight lines that works perfectly with the natural shape of the landscape.
Custom masonry on the stone veneer created a perfect match to the existing stonework on the house, and provides additional seating to the space. Each stone was hand-picked, cut and chiseled by our expert masons.
Unilock ledgestone caps and steps along with Oberfield Ozark pavers complimented the Unilock Copthorne border installed in soldier fashion. Low voltage lighting was hidden under the cap stones on the veneer, creating a relaxing effect around the pergola and custom natural wood fireplace.
Total cost: $65,000
Time to completion: 1 month
